Thursday Thirteen #9

Thirteen Pet Peeves

1.   People who call you and then immediately put you on hold once you pick up.  I always hang up.  Call me when you can talk.

2.  Going through my desk drawers.  I don't go through other people's drawers unless they give me permission.  This is why I had locks installed on my office drawers.  Some people of no respect of boundaries or privacy.

3.   When someone feels the need to repeat the exact same sentence three or four times to me but in different variations.  If I say "okay" once you tell me the first time then that means I understood you and our conversation is over as far as I'm concerned because I have already started to tune you out.

4.   Anyone who cuts me off and proceeds to go slower than my current rate of speed.  I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a big speeder (I usually go no more than five over the speed limit) but even so, if someone can go flying past me just to get ahead of me then they sure as hell better keep going at that speed and not slower than me.  All it will cause is for me to go around you and get ahead of you.  Again.

5.   People who clip their nails in my presence.  Really, is there anything more annoying than the sound of someone clipping their nails?

6.   Buying something from eBay and then waiting for a week for my item to arrive and it doesn't which then leads to me having to email the seller to find out when I should be expecting my item to arrive and getting the response of "Oh, I was out of town it's been mailed" or "I got sick" or what ever else.  Listen, I understand things happen and come up, but this is why we have a little thing called email.  Send me one and let me know what is going on so that I don't have hunt you down to find out where my package is.  Technology is supposed to make things easier.

7.   People who have been sitting in the Starbucks drive-thru ahead of me and have no idea what they want once they get up to the order box.  You have been waiting in this line just as long as I have, if you haven't figured it out by now you have no business even contemplating using the drive-thru.  I hate you and so does everyone else that is behind me.

8.   Anyone who pays by check at a store and doesn't have at least the name of the store and the date written on the check.  There's this little called convenience and it happens to come in the form of a debit card.  Need to balance your account, go on-line and look at your statements.  Presto!  You're done.

9.   Realizing that the public sink counter that I just leaned up against is completely wet and now I have a retarded wet line across my shirt bottom.  How hard is it to wipe the counter top if you get it wet?

10. People who are loud for no reason at all.  Whether it be on a cell phone, in a theater, at a restaurant.  Do everyone a favor and shut the hell up for once.

11. Loud yawners.  If there is one thing that will have me shoot you a I-wish-you-would-choke type of look, that would be it.  Really, yawning doesn't require you to make obnoxious noises.  I yawn everyday, in fact I yawn multiply times a day and they are all silent.

12. When people don't live up to my expectations.  I suppose this is more of a personal issue, but still, isn't it bothersome when people aren't the way you know they could be?

13. Smoking right before walking into my office.  Really, how much more difficult would it be for those people to smoke after they leave my office?  This is why I invested in one of those automated Air Wick spray thingamajigs.  Mmmm... Harvest Spice.

Update: I realized number two and thirteen were the same because the offense happened twice while I writing this so I must of posted about twice in anger.  Number two has been changed.  Whoops.
